Read only the best.

Discover the New York Times Book Review’s top books each year, plus Pulitzer Prize winners and Amazon’s annual bestsellers.

What’s this about?

This site has the simple goal of archiving lists of the best books written each year. Identifying the “best books” is admittedly a subjective exercise, but we have used three sources for the purposes of this site: the New York Times Book Review, which picks the Top 10 books written each year, Pulitzer Prize winners, and a list of Amazon’s bestselling books annually.
Our hope is that you use these lists to inform all of your future reading endeavors. After all, life is short. Read only the best.

The New York Times Book Review Top Books

Each year, the editors of the New York Times Book Review choose the top 10 best fiction and nonfiction books. These are aggregated in this site for ease of reference and to provide a critical take on literary contributions.

Pulitzer Prize Winning Books

The Pulitzer Prize is awarded each year to top fiction and general nonfiction books in the United States. Both winners and finalists are aggregated in this site.

Amazon’s Annual Bestsellers

Simply a list of Amazon’s best selling books of each year. These are aggregated in this site for ease of reference and to provide a sense of how popular tastes have evolved over time. Note: only goes back to 1995.
